Edgar is a lifelong resident of Angier, NC. He graduated from Shawtown High School in 1949. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 and was stationed in Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, New York and North Carolina. He has been working with Dafford Funeral Home, Inc. since Dafford Memorial Chapel was established in Angier, NC in 1974. He is a member of Cutts Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Angier, NC where he is a Deacon. His past employment was with Reynolds Aluminum in Raleigh, NC and Angus Fire Armor in Angier, NC. He was a member of the Angier City Council for 14 years, Police Commissioner for 12 years, member of the board of directors for the Angier Black River Rescue Squad, Boy Scout counselor for Troop # 152 for 20 years and a member of the Angier Civic Association for 21 years. He and his wife, Inez, have one son, Ricky. He has five grandchildren. Edgar loves to make and fix anything, fish and spend time with family and friends.
