Mr. Darryl Jermall "DJ" Smith

It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Mr. Darryl Jermall (D.J.) Smith, 38, of Dunn, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

Extended family and friends are being received at the home of his mother,  Angelia Smith-Ashford (Alex), 111 Covington Lane, Dunn, NC on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 4pm-8pm.

Darryl is survived by his loving mother Angelia Smith-Ashford (Alex) ; Son, Isaiah Smith and daughter, Hannah Smith all of Dunn, NC. Stepmother; Ms. Leala Smith of Fayetteville, NC, Brothers; Reginald McLean (Ariel) and DeShawn Smith of Fayetteville, NC. And Trey Turner of Dunn, NC. Stepbrothers; Axel Ashford and Boris Ashford (all of Fayetteville, NC) Stefan Ashford of Garner, NC. Jaquan Hamilton, Jahleel Hamilton (Fayetteville, NC) Two Sisters; Caitlin West (Paul) and Jordan Turner in Fayetteville, NC. Paternal Grandparents; Ferman and Clenties Smith (Godwin, NC) and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public viewing will be held at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Dunn, on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 1:00 PM – 1:55 PM.

Funeral service will follow @ 2:00 PM, following the guidelines of the facility for entrance and capacity.

Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery, Dunn.
